.............
So, a few weeks ago, Rj and I helped Tim Parsons and his girlfriend Kirsti move into their new apartment down in Toronto. It turned out to be a really great day. Usually moving never goes as planned, but everything seemed to working out in our favour that day. Tim rented a huge truck and it turned out be a lot cheaper because he booked it online, sweet....starting the day off perfect......the only real trouble was that they lived in the apartment building beside the Go train so this meant we had to use the elevator, although they lived on the 2nd floor so moving the lighter things using the stairs turned out to be a huge time saver. Then we get to there new apartment just off of Queen street, but to get to the parking area, we had to drive through these crazzy small drive ways, with graffiti all over the garages, and there was a few close calls with the huge moving truck and since RJ and I were behind TIm and his dad in the truck, in Tim's car we witness to all the near misses. But we make it there. To then find out that the stairs into the apartment are really narrow, however they live in the basement apartment so, at least they are going downward. I was amazed that all of the furniture even went through that door -- even Tim's dad was like, hmmm we maybe buying some new furniture today.........but RJ and Tim did it, they go everything in. We finished moving everything in by about 5pm, not bad for beginning the move at 10 am that day in Mississauga. We sat and had a few beers, which is not common for RJ and I, we drink any form of liquor maybe once every 3 months, so to be drinking at like 5 was strange, but then we all went out for dinner and met kirsti at this great Mexican restaurant. The food and the music there was fantastic. So it was a great day in all.
Its funny because that night Rj and I were discussing what it would be like to move to TO, granted we could never afford the rent anywhere, but still everything would be soooo close and that would be perfect since we are car-less. But at the same time that would probably be our downfall. Since, RJ's car died, we have been real meals at home all the time, going for fast food is like a treat now........before it was at least 3 or maybe more times a week. so ya i think we are gonna stick to our Oakville or Burlington plan, unless of course job situations change that is.
Ya know I don't know how we are ever gonna be able to move all of my stuff once we get our own place. I mean RJ has moved a few times since he has left home, but me never, 25 years in this house. I use to move to Guelph for school.....but I only took maybe 60 percent of my stuff with me. It will probably take me weeks of packing to get all of my stuff together it will be a crazzy event that is forsure. I think we will move RJ in first, and then me gradually hehehe.
well thats enough random topics for today gotta get some sleep, my silly puppy (well two year old puppy) Raider woke me up at 7am, because of the garbage trucks at the plaza infront of my house........he was standing at my window in my bedroom barking......and I didn't need to get up until 8 errrrr.
toodles
liz :)
