the store entry

hey everyone,
if there is a ton of mis-spelled words in this entry I am very sorry, I chopped the tip part of my middle finger off at work yesterday, so it has made the simplest tasks enormously difficult, like typing a full sentence.
so, ya this is my big whats new with the store that RJ and I work at. Formerly, you all new it as a price chopper, who of course was owned by sobeys. HOwever, this particular store was franchised out, to our store manager Brian Bartlett ( if your commin to the wedding, you will see him there hopefully). Anyways, he had decided well, probably with some pushing from headoffice that if he sold back this store, they would give him a store manager position at the brand new 70 thousand square foot store they were building in Georgetown. So ya, how could really anyone pass that up, I mean from our tiny store of 10 thousand square feet, which earned like 125, 000 a week, he would probably earn 3 times that a this new store. SO, he sold the store, we were told nothing would change for awhile, Steve our former grocery manager took over as store manager. THen, one monday a lady from HUman Resources walks in -- hands everyone this letter stating we are closing for 3 months for renovations and opening back up as a Sobey's Express -- of course I was upset, most of these stores in the past, have only packaged meats, there is hardly any staff. Steve, tried to tell me it would be good for everyone, that there would be a full service deli and more hot foods, then we even have now. So, we were all sent to the Maple Grove Sobey's to train.

THis is where we have been since March 20th......and ya it feels that long. SOme of us are doing much better then others. RJ loves the meat department and everyone there is really great to work with except for one guy. The boss adores him because RJ is a hard worker, and will to stay late and has a willingness to learn everything from cutting to order. Bob our grocery guy, also is just adored there because he works really hard and they appreciate that. THey infact want him to stay on, but he likes our store. FOr me, the first few weeks, well month and a bit were just disasterous. The manger in the deli is a yeller, that is all she does, shouts and screams, and trys to insult you for doing something wrong. Its just unbelievable. I couldn't handle it, every night I went home and just cried, RJ didnt' know what to do. I don't think he had ever seen me that sad before. It has begun to get a lot better, I understand everything now, and I know how to deal with the nasty c0-workers in the deli, I just give them that attitude back. Its been so weird just seeing how everyone has changed. BUt I still hope that we are re-opening in June like they have been telling us, because I need to go back to my store hehehehh.

The intersting thing though, is that they have screwed me and RJ because, they have decided to hire one fresh manager to run the deli, meat, bakery and produce departments. WHich oh ya you guessed it, we are not managers, nor can we move up to be managers. But RJ and I have discussed that we are not doing manager duties either then, unless we are getting paid to do so. There will be no ordering or inventories, unless I am making a lot more money.

So, ya this is the work situation -- I am still looking for positions in parole and probation, not that I don't love working in the store atmosphere, I really do! I love the work, even though people think I am crazzy, they always comment on how, I spent all that time in university and now I just do this, but I like this, is that a bad thing. I keep looking for other positions in corrections because I really want to try that out, I never got the chance, I had wanted to do that for soooo long, went to a few interviews, but never got called back. So anyways, hopefully everything works out in the end...........

toodles

computer problems

hey everyone,
its been way too long once again -- this time I could not figure out for the life of me, why my computer would not allow blogger to sign in, it kept saying that the cookies were not enabled, but they were, I checked it like 8 million times, so what I did was set everything back to its original setting and ta da, I am back!

sooooooo many things catch up on -- Lins and Gregg's wedding: absolutely perfect. Everything was just perfect. The church which was just down the street from me, and across the street from RJ's building was just beautiful. I have never been in that particular church before so I was interested to see what it looked like inside, since I must pass by there at least 3 or 4 times a day hehe. Everyone cleaned up nice and looked sooo good. It was really great to see some old highschool faces. I haven't seen Larissa in nearly 3 years probably and even Tommy I think we bumped into him a year ago at square one. It was really great to see everyone. The ceremony was just gorgeous.....RJ's mom was crying next to me, which of course was getting me all teary-eyed. Once Lins walked out in her dress, and looked just stunning I knew this was going to be a great wedding. Rj's mom was just gone hehehe.
Rj and I had some time to kill inbetween the ceremony and the reception, but we were in our best clothes, so going home to the furiest kitty in the whole wide world was not a option -- sooo we drove RJ's moms car over to the plazza got a drink and then we drove up towards the reception hall, just because we were not exactly sure where we were going. Once we found the hall, we drove around a little and found tons of bridal stores, I think there was one of every corner up there, so that was funny.
The reception was beautiful, very nice hall. Of course, I had the worst shoes on imagineable, so we kinda leaned beside the wall until we could sit hehe. I made RJ my gofer, he ran and got me a drink, checked my coat heheh.....I was like ya sorry sore shoes heheh. The hall was just gorgeous inside just huge rooms. Everything turned out just wonderful -- the best part was the speeches, always love the speeches. Everyone from the groomsmen, bridal party and their parents were just fantastic. All very sweet and just made everyone laugh and enjoy their time there. The food was amazing. RJ didn't want to fill up on his soup, so I finished his hahhah. TOooo goood. We got to some dancing at the end of the night -- oh ya by this point the running shoes were on hahah. It was definitely necessary.
The whole day was great. When RJ and I left, we both felt like yep thats how its done. It was great to celebrate Gregg and Lins special day.

chat with everyone soon!
