banky
this is my kitty banky, I have chatted alot about him I am sure. sooo I thought hey probably about time I put face to information.
we got this bundle of terror from this woman (who was a probably a little questionable) who worked in the price chopper deli ohhhh ages ago. Her cat had 6 kittens, banky is one of the two boys.
sooo after begging RJ for oh probably about a goood two weeks we said we could have him. since of course the cat would have to live with him, hello I have a crazzy cocker spaniel, who thinks he owns the world (that is a later story). anyways, we get this cat, probably a lot younger then we should have. first, we find out he has fleas ahhhhhhhh. now those of you who know rj, know that hey he is not the neatest person, but there is one thing even he can not tolerate that is bugs. he flipped out, everything in the apartment had to be washed and banky immediately got meds. then next we find out that the food we are buying him is making him to heavy so we switch to healthier brand. then, he is finally healthy for about a year. just around the time RJ and I got engaged RJ's parents asked him if he would like to move back in and save up some money, from that moment on my little banky has been very sick. first they thought, he had a urinary tract infection, nope nothing help, he would just pee everyone, he had no control and it seemed to hurt.
soooo we have put up with mis-diagnosis for oh about 7 months now. we spent sooo much money on new food, shots for the inflamation and even x-rays and nothing seemed to work. once RJ moved out to burlington with his parents we began taking him to see a new vet. they pretty much gave us the worst news possible that he might have bladder cancer or that the linning of his bladder was too weak.....or the 3rd option which was that he would be on this type of medication that helps his bladder function normally for the rest of his life.
this was definitely the hardest decision we have had to make......i mean if we could we would spend every cent on this cat, he means the world to us...........so we decided to take a risk and just try the medication and soooo far cross your fingers it has been working. he has been on the medication for ooooo about a month and he has had no accidents........we are soooooo happy. Banky does have to return to the vet to see if there is anymore blood in his urine and if not this medication is working perfectly!!! I hope soooo....i dunno what I would do with out this little guy!!
